What is Appy food and drinks vision?
We are on a mission to be the number one choice of brand for healthier families.
What are Appy Food and drinks main principles?
We educate families about food and the way it should be enjoyed. We encourage families to engage in a healthier active lifestyle through play, exercise, workshops and informing them about the foods they eat.
We believe that a positive approach is essential in order for us to make healthier lifestyle choices. We encourage throughout our business the power of CAN; it is a principle that empowers our team to create extraordinary products naturally.
We have spent many years developing our all-natural flavours to have a lower number of sugar and calories without compromising on the taste.
We only favour renewable resources for our packaging. We not only use recyclable materials but we give back by replanting trees.
What does your logo represent?
The Appy logo means more than you think:
• Our leaf represents how our products are 100% natural.
• The glasses illustrate the clear vision we have in making all our wonderful drinks healthy and delicious.
• The bow tie shows we are a smarter choice for families.
• Our mix of fruits expresses that we are a diverse bunch at Appy HQ.
Why do you use licensed characters in your kids range?
We use licensed kids characters to engage with families that want something healthier and only select properties that share our vision of family living the healthy natural way.
How Appy drinks are made?
Appy Drinks use only natural ingredients served the way nature intended, such as delicious fresh fruits and natural zero calorie sweetener Stevia.
Appy drinks have a minimum of 50% less sugar and 50% less calories than traditional fruit drinks which makes them ideal for keeping to your family’s daily calorie allowance and sugar levels down. This in turn helps lower the chances of developing diabetes, obesity and tooth decay. Our drinks tend to be either isotonic or hypotonic, which have positive hydrating effects on the body and work in harmony with natural sugar levels in the body.
Moreover, our packaging is eco-friendly, as we use Tetra Pak cartons that are Forestry Stewardship Certified. That means for that the trees we use in production are replaced with new trees.
What is the main difference between fruit juices and fruit drinks?
100% fruit juice sugar levels are really high. In a serving of a 100% fruit juice there can be as much as 25 grams of sugar or 5 teaspoons. We believe this is too much for families especially considering that the World Health Organisation recommends that adults have no more than 6 teaspoons per day so our juices are at least 50% less than regular fruit juices in sugar and calories.
Can Appy drinks count as 1 of my 5 a day?
Yes - Appy Food & Drinks fruit drinks contain high juice contents and real fruits so for a serving of Appy fruit juices in a 330ml glass would constitute 1 of your 5 a day.
What is Stevia and why do you use them in your products?
Stevia is a zero calorie, totally natural plant based sweetener.
It’s an undiscovered gem that’s been used in Asia and South America for over 2000 years to enhance their food and drinks.
We prefer to use stevia instead of sugar because sugar contains a lot of calories and a high consumption of it has been frequently linked to health issues such as diabetes and obesity.
Sugar and its acidic properties can also damage the enamel layer on children’s teeth, which can lead to tooth decay.
Are your products suitable for Diabetics?
Appy drinks contain significantly reduced sugars than other competing fruit juices on the market and are the lowest of all natural reduced sugar juices available today. We receive many positive responses from diabetic drinkers, including this review
It is however important to always check the nutritional information thoroughly before consuming to ensure the drinks are suitable for your family.
Are our products Halal and Kosher Friendly?
All of the production facilities we use are Halal and Kosher friendly.
Are the drinks suitable for kids with allergies?
Our products only contain natural ingredients so we don’t tend to hear of any allergy problems. If you are in doubt, email us at email@example.com and we’ll be happy to give you peace of mind.
Is concentrated juice more environmentally friendly?
There are less food miles in concentrated juices due to the way we extract the juice out of single oranges making it easier to transport much more oranges in a single journey than otherwise possible and in turn reducing the carbon footprint.
What is the Appy green project?
We run workshops for families to educate them on how to enjoy a healthier lifestyle, encourage kids to grow their own food so they know what goes in their tums and teach families how to make balanced recipes. We also empower communities to give back to earth-friendly causes by raising money through our charitable works with various green non-profit organisations.
To find out more about the project email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and see how you can get involved.
Where can Appy drinks be found?
You can find our drinks in Tesco, Whole Foods Market Stores, in all smart retailers and also online on Ocado.
What does the school approved products mean?
In the UK the government sets standards for school meals, which means specific nutritional requirements for food and drink products to be served in schools to children.
All of Appy’s fruit drinks are better than the required schools standards:
Theses guidelines cover the minimum juice content of drinks and restrictions on added sugars, which include:
• Not containing any added sugar or honey
• Fruit juice combination drinks must be at least 45% fruit juice
• Containing nothing artificial
What is food mileage?
Food miles are a way of attempting to measure how far food has travelled before it reaches you. It is a good way of looking at the environmental impact of foods and their ingredients.
Are our ingredients ethically sourced?
Appy works with farmers and suppliers to source the best quality and most responsibly sourced ingredients.
